Old Mill Park

Created as a city park in 1922, Old Mill Park is located on the northeast side of town featuring ball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball court, playground equipment, concession stand, two restroom buildings, and shelter houses. There is also a nature trail, walking trail, and plenty of green space for relaxing and picnicking.

The 60-acre park is open from April 15 through October 31. It is open to walk-in traffic after October 31 during the daylight hours. Persons who wish to walk or 'play' in the park may park at the front entrance near the Park Superintendent's home.

The Savanna Park District has a variety of facilities available for gatherings such as reunions, picnics, weddings and other group functions. Shelters Available are: Plum Pavilion at the middle of park; The Oaks Pavilion at front of park; The Woods Pavilion near the tennis courts; Mennenga Pavilion East near Nature Trail; and Mennenga Pavilion West near back playground. 

Outdoor shelters are available on a "first-come, first-served" basis to the general public, unless reserved and paid for in advance through the District Office.

To reserve the open-air shelters it will be a charge of $25, and Plum Pavilion will be $30. This can be done in person at the Savanna Park District Office, 225 Bowen Street, or through the mail. Any questions please call the District Office at 815-273-4487. Rental fees are required to be paid in full at the time of reservation. 

We ask that you personally contact the Savanna Park District Office at 815-273-4487 and make the reservation. The Reservation Book is kept at the District Office.
