Site Plan Document Instructions
A Site Plan is a designed "map" diagram outlining the location of your project and should include measured distances from all property lines. An example is provided. Site plans should also include as much information about sidewalks, utility locations and access points, driveways, waterways and any other important component of property relating to your project.
By providing a visual depiction of your work project, it helps provide an extra layer of safety and security that will reduce any unintended problems with your project. In other words, taking the time to draw a site plan allows the city – and you – to see how your project will work and help the city review code requirements and approve the project.
A SITE PLAN provides a visual record that you are required to follow once approved. You are required to perform work as depicted. Any alteration of a plan needs to be submitted for review and approval.

Building Plan Document Instructions
A Building Plan or Project Illustration is a visual representation of what your project will look like once it is completed. An example plan is provided below.
The document you submit must include a floor plan or construction plan with measurements. Plans should contain as much detail as possible, including:

-
Overall size and dimensions
-
Height of the structure
-
Building materials
-
Location of related components
-
Structural elements

Providing a visual depiction of your project adds an extra layer of safety and clarity, helping to ensure there are no unintended issues with your project or application. Taking the time to prepare a detailed building plan allows both you and the City to confirm that the project complies with applicable regulations and building codes.
Once approved, the building plan becomes an official record and must be followed exactly as submitted. The plan is not an estimate or conceptual drawing—it represents the work you are authorized to perform. Any changes or alterations to the approved plan must be submitted for review and receive approval before work continues.
